René Yamín, Ph.D.
Founder & CEO
René possesses over 25 years of experience in management consulting, technology, and process improvement. Formerly at McKinsey & Company and V2A Consulting, he founded Akcelita in 2014 to develop digital tools that optimize processes across industries. Akcelita has received innovation awards in both Puerto Rico and the U.S. and holds five patents. René has a BS in Civil Engineering (UCAB), an MSCE, MBA, and PhD from Purdue University.
Giovany Vega
Technical Lead
With 20+ years in software development, Giovany has led full-stack development efforts at Akcelita since 2016. He’s delivered advanced banking platforms, solutions using computer vision and machine learning, and statistical algorithms. He holds 3 patents and earned a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Applied Math from UPR Río Piedras.
Brian Oroño
Sr. Software Developer
Full-stack developer with 6+ years of experience. Expert in .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, PHP, and relational databases like SQL Server and MySQL. Skilled in frontend technologies like React Native, HTML, CSS, jQuery, Knockout JS, and Bootstrap. Has worked across industries and also taught programming.
Jammy Vélez
Sr. Software Engineer
Jammy has been with Akcelita since 2015, leading and contributing to multiple projects across industries. He specializes in database management, frontend technologies, and HIPAA-compliant systems in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Holds a BS in Computer Engineering from UPR Mayagüez.
